Lessons in Estimating

This course is designed to get you up and running but you must crawl before you walk! With Scope By Trade Academy, you can get a full detailed introduction to the who, what, when, where, why and most importantly how's of estimating and quantity surveying.

Building is only a product of creation, and we can give you a good understanding of what exactly is built.

For all homes and buildings come what we call the skeleton, organs and skin. Understanding the anatomy is key in understanding the structure.

Every building and all construction should. I repeat should be to code. Always good to know and keep in mind.

Not all construction companies can do every type of project.  This is where knowledge and experience in reading blueprints and understanding the scope of work is required.

Some are in field some are in office some do both. We will give you a full breakdown of typical construction rolls and titles.

Estimating is done by trades per trade code.  A great estimator will know many by heart.

Learning the lingo of the construction industry is a huge part of communication within this industry.

Learn units of measurement and basic geometry.
